Mira Tiwari is a Research Associate in Knowledge, Governance, Transformations (KGT), part of the Global Governance Programme at the European University Institute's Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies.
At KGT her projects centre on optimising the nexus between science, policymakers, and citizens, bridging disciplines and knowledges for accurate, ethical data and evidence-informed policy making.
Mira specialises in societal learning and education for sustainable development, and participatory governance for climate and social justice. She has practitioner and academic experience in interdisciplinary research and policy, inter-institutional governance, regional cooperation, and education. Her work aims at strengthening systems approaches and transformative governance through socioecological and decolonial frameworks, critical data use, and local and expert knowledges. She collaborates with the Florence School of Regulation on questions of socio-environmental justice in climate and resource policies, and Minority-Majority world cooperation
With the Monte dei Paschi Foundation, in collaboration with the social cooperative Generazione T, she is the co-founder of the first Youth Council of Siena. She is responsible for representing the Council in institutional contexts, building regional partnerships, providing research insights, and facilitating the youth-led establishment and legitimation of Council.
Mira holds a first-class Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Cambridge and a cum-laude Master's Degree in Public Diplomacy from the University of Siena.
She has lived in Kuala Lumpur, Amsterdam, Chicago, Mumbai, Cambridge, New Delhi, Siena, and Bengaluru. Her working languages are English, Italian, and French. Her conversational languages are Hindi and Spanish.
